Bobby Larry Cooper Sr.

May 13, 1937 ~ December 26, 2020 (age 83)

Obituary

Hurricane, UT – Bobby Larry Cooper Sr. passed away on December 26, 2020 at Dixie Regional Medical Center, at the age of 83 years old. He was born in Houston, Texas on May 13, 1937 to Webster and Irene (Curllee) Cooper, who preceded him in passing.

Bobby joined the United States Navy in September 1955 and was a member of the Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT) serving on the U.S.S. Tulare (AKA-112). After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy in September 1963, Bobby earned his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Morrison-Knudsen Corporation as a Project Manager and was responsible for several new Power Plants and 2 Anheuser Busch Breweries. After retiring from Morrison-Knudsen Corporation, he decided retirement was not for him and joined American Linen as head Electrical Engineer for 10 Years.

Bobby had a passion for motorcycles and loved riding his BMW’s and Harley’s. He held primary officer positions within several chapters within the Harley Owners Group (HOG) and was a life member. He enjoyed listening to classical music, attending theatrical productions and was fascinated with history (learning something new every day).

In 2003, Bobby and Laurie moved to Hurricane, Utah to make their forever home. Moving to southern Utah was a blessing; enjoying the warmer weather, fishing, hiking, and visiting Zion National Park often (stopping by Oscar’s for a piece of carrot cake during their commute).

Bobby is survived by his best friend & loving wife, Laurie. Their five children: Angela (Charles), Rodney, Rhonda (Dale), Bobby Jr., and Robyn (Chris); 12 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dixie Regional Medical Center for the care they provided.

There will be no funeral service.
