Charles Ronald Coons, born March 25,1962 in Murray, Utah to Kent and Jeanette Coons passed away on May 7, 2020. He was the 5th of 7 children.
Ron’s childhood was filled with family trips to visit cousins, camping and enjoyed time at the family cabin in Scofield. Ron loved RC planes he would stand for hours at the elementary school spinning in circles as he maneuvered it from the ground. The collection of RC cars and trucks were his pride and joy. He loved riding anything with wheels and speed. Ron could be found riding motorcycles, 3-wheelers, mini-bikes, and tote-gotes in the clay gullies close to home and on the roads and hills at the cabin. Ron attended Murray schools and was part of the MHS class of 1980.
When Ron’s kids were old enough he would share his love of sports with them. Especially those that involved water. Ron could be found spending his weekends by the lake, water skiing, surfing, and fishing. When he wasn’t on the water he was enjoying nature itself by four-wheeling, running, and shooting guns.
He was a jack of all trades, being able to master any skill with proficiency. He could restore furniture, repair engines, configure computers, grow plants, and train dogs without manuals or You-Tube tutorials. Being able to learn skills fast gave him employment opportunities that allowed him to travel and advance in the field he was currently working at.
In 2013, Ron and Wendy were married on a beach in Hawaii. Together they enjoyed golfing, boating, four-wheeling and biking. Ron and Wendy loved their new home close to Sand Hollow Reservoir in Hurricane Utah. He and Wendy would take their boat out and bask in the sun most days. Some of the activities he enjoyed alone and with Wendy included; radio-control cars, flying drones, shooting guns and flashy BIG trucks.
A child at heart, Ron had a great sense of humor and would create great laughter and fun in every gathering. Like his father, he loved to tease everyone around him and tell stories with as little truth and fact as possible, making them all the more fun.
Ron loved his mom and dad dearly. His visits, although brief, were something his parents looked forward to. If they ever needed something repaired, replaced or disposed of, he would come and take care of them.
Ron is remembered by his wife Wendy Coons, his son Brian (Celestte) Coons, daughters, Keighla Taylor (Rawdee Cooper) and Heather (Aaron) Kaupp, grandchildren Kaden Coons, Kaia Coons, Liam Taylor, Bren Kaupp, Kache Taylor, Parker Kaupp, as well as Ron’s mother, Jeanette Coons and his 5 sisters, Marie (Jerry) Eldredge, RaeJean Coons, Jolie (Lee) Tanner, Kalleen (Roger) Campbell, and Nanette (Steve) Wood. Ron is preceded in death by his father, Kent R Coons and older brother, Michael Kent Coons.
