Martin De La Cruz

February 13, 1934 — May 8, 2020

Our beloved father, grandpa, and uncle, Martin De La Cruz Rodriguez, passed away on the  8th of May, 2020 at the age of 87  in Sandy Utah.

He was born on the 27th of February 1933 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila Mexico to Teodoro and Juana  De La Cruz.

He was married to his first wife Esther Alba on the 12th of October 1955 and they had a son Eloy.

On the 27th of February 1983 he married Lydia Villanueva. They had two children, Noel and Marly.

On January 31st 2015 they were sealed in the Saint George Temple.

Martin enjoy growing up in the small town of Piedras Negras. He came from a big family of 9 brothers and 3 sisters. He was always happy and in a good mood. You could often hear him singing or whistling a song.

He serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Mexican Mission. Later in life he serve another mission with his wife Lydia in Oaxaca Mexico.

Martin always found joy in life whether he was playing sports, singing in the church choir, or just talking to people. He had a gift of communicating with people even if they didn't speak Spanish. He made everyone feel comfortable and welcome when he was around.

We will miss him very much.

He is survived by is sons: Eloy De La Cruz, Noel De La Cruz, (Tracee) Daughter Marly De La Cruz Burrup (Joshua)
Grandchildren: Celeste, Anabrisa, Valeria, Theodore, Maya, Vanessa Elizabet, Alyssa Rebecca, Melissa Annabel, Gizell Alejandra, Eilianna Marisol, Marly Rose.
Brothers: Daniel,Teodoro,Manuel, Gregorio,Fernando
Sisters: Leonor, Francisca, Ernestina

Graveside services will be Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Tonaquint Cemetery.

Nuestro  amado padre, abuelito, y tio Martin De La Cruz Rodriguez murio el 8 de Mayo 2020 a la edad de 87 anos en Sandy, Utah.

Nació el 27 de febrero de 1933 en Piedras Negras, Coahuila, México, hijo de Teodoro y Juana De La Cruz.

Se casó con su primera esposa, Esther Alba, el 12 de octubre de 1955 y tuvieron un hijo, Eloy.

El 27 de febrero de 1983 se casó con Lydia Villanueva. Tuvieron dos hijos, Noel y Marly.

El 31 de enero de 2015 fueron sellados en el Templo de San Jorge.

Martin disfruta creciendo en el pequeño pueblo de Piedras Negras. Provenía de una familia grande  de 9 hermanos y 3 hermanas. Siempre estaba feliz y de buen humor. A menudo podías escucharlo cantar o silbar una canción.

Sirvió en una misión para La Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días, la Misión de México. Más tarde en la vida, él sirve otra misión con su esposa Lydia en Oaxaca, México.

Martin siempre encontraba alegría en la vida, ya fuera jugando deportes, cantando en el coro de la iglesia o simplemente hablando con la gente. Tenía el don de comunicarse con las personas, incluso si no hablaban español.

Hizo que todos se sintieran cómodos y bienvenidos cuando estaba cerca.

Lo extrañaremos mucho

Le sobreviven sus hijos: Eloy De La Cruz, Noel De La Cruz, (Tracee) Hija Marly De La Cruz Burrup (Joshua)
Nietos: Celeste, Anabrisa, Valeria, Theodore, Maya, Vanessa Elizabet, Alyssa Rebecca, Melissa Annabel, Gizell Alejandra, Eilianna Marisol, Marly Rose.
Hermanos: Daniel, Teodoro, Manuel, Gregorio, Fernando.
Hermanas: Leonor, Francisca, Ernestina.

Los servicios de tumbas serán el sábado 16 de mayo de 2020 a las 12:00 del mediodía en el cementerio de Tonaquint.
