Richard Bairett

December 31, 1943 — August 20, 2021

Cedar City, Utah

Richard Lee Bairett, age 77, passed peacefully from this life on August 20, 2021 in St. George, UT with his loved ones by his side. He was born December 31, 1943 in Redding, CA. He was sealed to his sweetheart, Darlene Woolsey in the Jordan River Temple in 1996.

Rich grew up in Redding, CA where he lost his dad at age 12 in an accident. He was a jack of all trades: everything from competitive roller skater, Air Force veteran, police officer, auctioneer, and all kinds of sales related work. He converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a young father and served in numerous capacities throughout his life. He was an easy-going, California-refined Okie and had a beautiful singing voice. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and poker. Rich loved his family including 48 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 15 great-greats. He was previously married to Carol (Snyder) Cantrell and Kynette (Newland) Emile.

Rich is survived by his wife, Darlene, sister Margie (David) Winters, and his children: Pam (Doug) Thomas, Rick (Crista) Bairett, Brian (Mary Anne) Bairett, David (Bonnie) Bairett, Steven Bairett, Valana (Jay) Suarez, and Sierra Bairett. Step-children: Kristy (Brian) Leffler, Shawnalee Riley, Paul (Melissa) Kotter, Heather Kotter, Joseph Kotter, Daniel (Andrea) Kotter, Sarah (Wayne) Jolley, Alisha (Todd) Parry, and Rachael Kotter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Roy Bairett and Mildred Marie Ryker Bairett (Barnard), stepfather Robert Barnard, sister Lynn Drake, brother Robert Barnard, daughter Ileana Bairett and step-daughter Heather Kotter.

We would like to express gratitude to the first responders, nurses and doctors who enabled his care.
