Our kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and friend, Richard Denton Mathews, valiantly finished his earthly assignment and returned home to his Heavenly Father on June 24, 2022 at the age of 95 in St. George, Utah.

He was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He served in many callings.  He worked with the young men in the church for many years.  He served as a Bishop in Farmington, New Mexico and also in Littleton, Colorado.  He was a Branch Leader in Islamabad, Pakistan and served in the Branch Presidency in Lagos, Nigeria and Dublin, Ireland.  He served on several High Councils.
