Ryan Whitlock

St. George, UT—Ryan Lanor Whitlock, 48, passed away on August 15, 2021 in Hurricane, Utah. Ryan was born December 15, 1972. He married Deserae Holt, the love of his life on August 22, 2014 in Hurricane, Ut.

Ryan inherited his passion for horses from his Dad, who was his best friend and partner in many endeavors. Ryan became an “All- Around Cowboy” winning multiple championships in bareback riding, bronc riding, and team roping. He later became an expert horse trainer, working colts with his wife, sons, and dad.

Ryan Lanor had a huge heart and loving spirit. He loves his children with all his heart . He was kind and compassionate towards everyone he knew. Never was this more apparent than in the countless acts of kindness he performed every day for the people he loved, the animals he cared for, and even strangers he met on the road.

He is survived by his wife, Deserae, his children, Jaden, Brady, Madison, and Payton, parents Lanor and Lynda, sisters, Kelly Ann (Jeffery), and Christy Lynn (Darin) and beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hurricane 11th Ward Chapel, 452 N 2600 W Hurricane, Utah. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM – 10:45 AM at same location. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery.
