Sharon Jean Sanzaro "Sherry" was born September 20, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was the oldest of 6 children born to Gene and Gwen Chambless. The family moved from Oklahoma to California when she was a teenager. Her father was a horse trainer at Los Alamitos race track in California. She lived in Orange County, California for the majority of her adult life. Most recently in Westminster with her husband James Sanzaro of 23 years. They loved to travel and went on numerous cruises. Loved Life!

To know Sherry was to love her. Her family came first always. Her spirit was kind and loving. Her favorite hobby was baking and she baked nearly every day and never ate a bite of it! Her favorite treat was a Smirnoff Ice Cooler, always brought a smile to her face.

She and her family were retail gift store owners for many years. The first being Sunshine Station in Garden Grove, California, followed by Cypress Hallmark and Country Spice in Downey. She also worked for Teamsters Union for many years later in life and at Los Alamitos Race Course and Del Mar Race Course.

Sherry was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease about 5 1/2 years ago. In May of 2021 she went to her daughter's for a visit as her health was declining. Hospice helped care for her here in Utah along with her daughter Leslie. Sherry passed away on June 25, 2021 at home with her husband and daughter by her side.

She was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Gwen Chambless and sisters Nancy Kleve and Trudy Chambless. She is survived by her husband James Sanzaro of Westminster, Ca and daughter Leslie Carpenter of Hurricane, Utah. Also sisters Jan Hart, Cindy McCarley and brother Michael Chambless. Sherry had  7 grandchildren Jessica, Mack, Anna, Lucy, Ethan, Addison, and Avery and 3 great grand children Jack, Thomas and Audrey,

We will miss her so much and she will be forever in our hearts!
